PEI 9085 (made from ULTEM? 9085 resin) is a material with exceptional strength. It is used on a daily basis in the most demanding industries, such as aviation, railways and automotive. Thanks to its unique properties, such as non-flammability (UL94 V0) and non-toxicity, it is valued and approved by aircraft manufacturers (FAR 25.853) and the railway industry (EN45545). Parts made of ULTEM? resin are effective replacements for metal components, combining the strength of steel and the lightness of aluminium. This makes it possible to reduce the time and costs associated with development and manufacturing of fully functional parts. PEI 9085 is distinguished by its resistance to abrasion, high temperatures up to 180°C, solvents and UV rays. All this makes it an excellent choice for applications operating in extreme conditions. In addition, it has high dielectric strength and good thermal conductivity. Compared to other materials such as PEEK and PEKK, PEI 9085 has slightly lower strength, stability and creep resistance. 3D printing with PEI 9085 is possible using printers designed to process high-temperature materials (e.g. PEEK, PEKK, PEI, etc.). To achieve excellent print quality, it is necessary to use a heated chamber to ensure even heat distribution.
